Keep the base clean to protect your compressor
Leaves, grass clippings, dirt and palm debris fall into your outdoor unit and settle in the base, right around the compressor. That debris holds moisture against the compressor, its mounting and the base pan, and in Southwest Florida’s heat, humidity and salt air, that leads to rust and corrosion. The compressor is the heart of your AC and one of the most expensive parts to replace, so we clean out the base of the condenser on every maintenance visit.
A dirty condenser coil means a higher power bill
Your condenser coil is how your AC gets rid of the heat it pulls out of your home. When the coil is coated in dirt, pollen and debris, the system can’t release that heat efficiently. It has to run longer and work harder to keep your home cool, which means more electricity used and a higher power bill, plus extra wear on the compressor and fan motor. A clean coil helps your system run efficiently and last longer.
